So here's a few shots of out trip up to Kakwa Falls! We drove through rivers and creeks and lots of mud puddles! Over boulders and some crazy stretches of "road". The girls had a great time hiking to the falls and they were sure beautiful this time of year! It really was a fun day! We'll just try to forget about the Jeep breaking down making the drive home take twice as long as it should have!!
Here are Emily and Bethany with their friends Reese and Dulcea! Us and the Walkers took a 4x4ing day trip together to Kakwa Falls! We stopped at a place called Two Lakes that has a campground and therefore a potty! We had LOTS of fun on the way up to the falls!! The Jeep was great to drive in and it was fun listening to the girls screaming and giggling in the back every time we went over a big bump or ripping through a huge mud puddle!
Here's our proud Bethy after her final soccer game! The poor girl was too shy to really participate this year, but she was sure proud of that medal! Tim was her coach and I don't think we'll do that again! All she wanted was her daddy which made coaching a little difficult! She would only go on the field if he was holding her hand and when he wasn't there... well... at least she went and let me hold her hand! She actually enjoyed practice sometimes and even kicked the ball once during a game! But I think soccer may be second guessed next year!
Here are the girls on the boat!! And loving it! Beth has usually been to scared of riding in the boat, but this time she actually sat on a seat all by herself and had lots of fun! Emily of course loved every minute of it too! Unfortunately, our boat ride didn't last long... It's getting old and cantankerous! Sometimes it seems like it's going to work great, then others it just refuses to start or stalls out in the middle of the lake which isn't fun at all! But we made it safely back to shore. I'm not sure how much we'll be taking it out this year!
Summer has begun!! So we decided to take the boat out and see how it would work. While Tim was stuck out in the middle of the lake trying to get it started, the girls and I played on the beach! I still can't get over how much Emily loves the water! She was having a great time figuring out how to float on her surf board! Beth wasn't too sure about the water this time for some reason! She preferred the sand instead!
My friend Nicole and I were able to participate in Relay for Life in GP this year! It was a 12 hour, all nighter walk-a-thon! We had a great time. This is before we started so we look pretty happy and energetic! By the end I thought my legs were going to fall off! But we did it. We stayed up all night, walked most of the time with only a few breaks here and there for food and hot chocolate, and had a great time visiting with eachother!
Here's Beth learning ride her bike in our cul-de-sac! She was concentrating so hard on keeping her feet on the pedals she wasn't paying attention to much else! She did end up crashing and falling off. Scraped her knees a bit and needed some love, but she was right ready to get back on and try again!
Tim and I took the girls out for a day trip at the beginning of June to see Kinueso Falls in BC. They were pretty spectacular!! It was really really windy... As you can see by Emily's crazy hair do! We did a little hiking to get to this spot. The girls love to hike! We love being able to do this kind of thing up here. In Edmonton we would never think to take a 6 hour round trip drive anywhere in a day!

Here's Emily in her ballet performance for the dance competition! She did a great job on stage and remembered everything she needed to! The only thing the judge had to say was the girls needed to smile and lift up their chins! But other then that she said they did really well! I'm so proud of Emily! She's doing such a good job and her confidence has grown so much since we first started putting her in sports and dance! Even when she's nervous, she still gets out there and does what she needs to do! I can't wait to see more of this in the future!
Here's Emily in her tap performance for her first dance competition! She did SO good and I am really proud of her! The judge had nothing bad to say about the performance and was really impressed with how well all the girls (and one boy!) knew their parts! They did their dance to Calendar Girl. Each girl was a month of the year and had to do a little dance for the boy when her month was said in the song! It was TOO cute!
My cute little basketball player!! Emily wanted to play basketball this year. Of course we said YES!! She had a great time and always had a smile on her face! It was nice to have Daddy be the coach too! This picture was taken on her tournament day where she played in three games! This being her first year playing, she did really well! Her hand eye coordination is 10 times better then mine ever was! She has her dad to thank for that! Basketball's over for now, but she'll definitely want to play again next year!

Here are the girls in their new Christmas jammies! We had a great Christmas this year! We stayed home Christmas Day and then went to visit our families in Edmonton on Boxing Day for a few days! Emily and Bethany were SO excited about Santa this year! Emily woke up at 3 AM Christmas morning (presumably to go to the bathroom) and saw her presents from Santa sitting under the tree! It took me almost 2 hours to get her to go back to sleep! But she did thank goodness! At 8:00 Tim and I were too excited to sleep anymore, so we woke up the girls! We had a nice morning opening and playing with presents! In the afternoon we were able to go to the church and have a big Christmas dinner with all our friends! In Edmonton we got to go on a hay ride out at my uncle George's and skating with my family! We also got to take the girls to WEM to go to Galaxy Land on the rides there! Emily and Beth got more presents from their grandparents and aunts and uncles! They are so spoiled. We had a fun little trip! We came home on the 30th to get ready for the New Years party we were having at our house! It was fun! We played games, ate lots of yummy food and set off fireworks! We love the Christmas season and it always seems to go by too quickly! We are looking forward to the new year and hope to have lots of fun together! We have been so blessed this past year and have had so many wonderful experiences! I can't wait to do it all again this year!
